When you’re starting a new business, one of the biggest expenses you’ll have to concern yourself with is the cost of building out the physical location in which your company will operate. Many new business owners have terrific ideas of all the wonderful extras they want to put in their office space. It’s important to remember that space is money, and you really need to avoid unnecessary spending when starting a new business. You may love the idea of having a game or exercise room at work, but those things represent a lot of square footage that won’t generate revenue. The same goes with a fancy bathroom. Sure it would be great to have a shower in the office, but do you really need to be spending extra money on shower faucets and a large water bill when you’re getting a new business off the ground?
